PINK COLLAR is an exhibition of work by three contemporary female York artists. Collectively known as Reviewthecube.
It will show the work of all three of its members, Charlie Barnes, Susanne Davies and Clare Nattress.
The exhibition will be punctuated by a series of artist talks which will explore notions of gender, labour and identity in relation to the production of arts practice.
Charlie Barnes is a sculptor influenced by the spaces she makes work within. Currently working from home, her practice is concerned with domestic value, the artist as consumer and notions of insideness.
Susanne Davies is an artist who’s work stems from an interest in the traditionalism of feminine domestic histories, visualising repetition and labour with the physicallity of impermanant and ephemeral materials.
Clare Nattress is a conceptual artist specialising in the body, data, language and information. Her practice explores the relevance and richness of the body in our increasingly mediated world adopting both new media and scientific approaches.
